Prime Minister Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama has congratulated his Australian counterpart, Malcolm Turnbull, on the re-election of the Conservative-Liberal Party in the July 2 Federal Elections.

In his congratulatory message, Prime Minister Bainimarama said Fiji is keen to work closely with the newly elected Australian Government to strengthen bilateral ties and look at ways in which the two nations can strengthen cooperation in the region and on the global stage.

BAINIMARAMA: “We look forward to working with you and your Government to continue the improvement in our relationship and match the longstanding close friendship between our two peoples.”

Prime Minister Bainimarama also extended an invitation to Prime Minister Turnbull to make an official visit to Fiji.  

He added that every Fijian joins him in wishing Mr Turnbull success in the months and years ahead. 

The Conservative-Liberal Party-led Cabinet was sworn-in yesterday.
