The National Federation Party parliamentarians (MPs) have been barred from Parliament for the next 30 days.

Dr. Biman Prasad, Tupou Draunidalo, and Prem Singh today received letters of suspension from the Speaker of the House Dr. Jiko Luveni

Ms Draunidalo confirmed receiving the letter and said no law was quoted, “just that legal advice was received by her (Dr. Luveni) office”.

Earlier today  Dr. Luveni announced that  a party’s suspension by the Registrar of Political Parties meant its suspension from Parliament.

The NFP MPs will also forfeit working on parliamentary committees and will not be paid for the duration of their suspension.

Party Leader Dr. Biman Prasad told Newswire that they would seek further legal advice.
