Mykaela Powell, one of three Fijian representatives to the World Supermodel Pageant’s regional finals is no stranger on the local modelling scene and she will use her fame to promote healthy living.

The 18 year old high school graduate told The Fiji Times, who are the official sponsors of the pageant, that she wants to use the publicity generated from the event to promote healthy lifestyles.

Powell says she considers it important to be physically and mentally healthy and keeps this way by visiting the gym three times a week and eating healthy food.

The former Yat Sen Secondary School student is a regular at Fiji Fashion Week, Style Fiji and won the FJFW Miss Teen Modelling competition in 2012 ahead of Phillipa Steele. Steele is now in New York, contracted to the Trump Model Management Agency.

The winner of the World Supermodel Pageant regional finals goes on to compete in  Bloemfontein, South Africa at the international finals. The first prize in South Africa is a contract with the Trump Model Management Agency.

There are currently 11 participants confirmed for the World Supermodel South Pacific finals which takes place tomorrow and concludes on Saturday at The Pearl Resort, Pacific Harbour.
