A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) and the General Elections Commission of the Republic of Indonesia was signed this morning.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem said that the MOU will strengthen Fiji’s institutional capacity. Marking his second year in office, Mr Saneem said he was excited to mark the signing of the MOU with the General Elections Commision of the Republic of Indonesia.

This MoU commits us to work collaboratively in strengthening our institutional capacity through the exchange of information and experiences, identifying opportunities for participation in human resources exchange programs and other activities in the field of
election management.

Following the successful completion of the 2014 General Election, Saneem said that the FEO has been actively sourcing and securing partnership with networks, regional and international organizations and most importantly election management bodies.

We most certainly look forward to knowledge exchange initiatives and election study programs.

Through this partnership, the FEO will be able to bring opportunities into the region to enhance the electoral services that it is mandated to offer to its voters.
