A 22-year-old driver of Nakasi and his 29-year-old passenger of Narere are recovering at the CWM Hospital after the car they were traveling in veered off the road at Makoi, Nasinu this afternoon. 

The car was traveling from Suva towards Nausori.  Another passenger was treated for minor injuries and sent home.  It is believed the car was speeding.

Police spokesperson Inspector Josaia Waicavu advised drivers to observe road rules and drive within the speed limit given.

We would like to again warn drivers to observe all road rules, especially driving within the specified zone speed limit.

The maximum speed limit between Suva and Nausori is 60km/hour. Accidents would rarely happens if you travel within that specified speed limit.

Speeding and attitude are the main contributing factors to accidents on our roads.

It is better to miss your flight, then losing your life in an accident like that”
