10 years in jail for marijuana brothers

Two men were sentenced to ten years imprisonment for cultivating marijuana in Navosa, in the interior of Viti Levu.

Brothers Joseva Vonokula (31) and Iliavi Sauledeci (20) last week pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs. They appeared at the Lautoka High Court,  and will be eligible for parole after eight years.

The duo were arrested in March this year following a raid by police.  329 plants weighing 11kg were uprooted from two separate farms.
