Vodafone E-Commerce and Corporate Affairs Mr Shalendra Prasad while handing over the cheque congratulated Mere Rodan an Olympian who will be representing Fiji to the Olympic games in Rio.

PRASAD: “I wish to acknowledge Mere Rodan in representing Fiji to the para Olympics in Rio.”

He said Vodafone Fiji is part of every sport in the country and has been sponsoring a number of sports like rugby, rugby league and soccer.

PRASAD: “Apart from only supporting the mainstream sport we are always supporting the others as well we have supported Table tennis, Chess and for this we seriously believe that sport is an empowering event.”

Fiji Table Tennis Association president Mr Anthony Ho said the donation would be a boost to the association.

He said the sporting federation still needed more assistance to help its athletes with limited abilities with proper facilities to use in competitions locally or internationally.

Olympian Mere Rodan said she was happy with the donations from Vodafone.

PRASAD: “I thank Vodafone Fiji for their support and for me its really a huge thing especially when I am preparing for the Olympic games in Rio next month.”
