The Vodafone Fiji U17 women’s team lost 2-3 to Vanuatu in their second game of the Oceania Football Confederation U17 Women’s Championship in Cook Islands on Sunday.

The Yogendra Dutt coached side started the game on the high note as the side took control of the game early in the first half but failed utilize the chances created.

Vanuatu side proved more strong as they broke the deadlock in the 44th minute. Vanuatu lead Fiji 1-0 at half-time.

Early in the second half Cynthia Ngwele scored second for Vanuatu giving them 2-0 advantage.

Fiji’s Cema Nasau pulled one back for Fiji in the 71 minutes where minutes later Koleta Likuculacula equalized for the Fiji side in the 74th minute.

Fiji is currently in the second position of the group B with 3 points behind Papua New Guinea on first with 6 points.  The side will play Papua New Guinea at 3pm today in their last pool game.
