Labasa currently leads the 2016 Vodafone Premier League standings after thumping Dreketi 6-0.

The Babasiga boys didn’t take long to get on the scoreboard, leading 4-0 at half time with the one player advantage, as Dreketi’s defender Vikranth Chandra was sent off for dangerous play in the earlier stages of the match.

Gabriel Matanisiga scored his second the game after the restart in the second half, with Vikranth Chandra closing the afternoon with the 6th goal for Labasa.

The Men-in-Black, Ba, trail Labasa’s lead in the VPL at the second spot after their 3-1 victory against Lautoka. The pressure was on the Blues as they led 1-0 at halftime, but couldn’t maintain their lead in the second half as they gave away a penalty in the 58th minute.

Narendra Rao levelled the playing field with his equalising penalty kick, followed by two more goals by Ba seniors Avinesh Waran Swamy and Malakai Tiwa.
