South Africa seemed on course for victory when it led 21-7 just after halftime but Rieko Ioane scored twice in the second half and Webber crossed with the last play of the match.

South Africa’s Rosko Specman was the DHL Impact Player of the Tournament as he racked up some huge stats Wellington.

The standing in the 2016 World 7’s Series is now as follows:12669625_10153261747311046_213895175096096188_n

Ben Ryan, Fiji 7’s coach, speaking in Wellington after the loss said “we’ve got ourselves to blame.”

We didn’t get it right and we learnt some very valuable lessons, brush ourselves down and get on with it.

We did the same with NZ and South Africa in the past, the message to the public is that we’ve got a good side. It hasn’t disappeared it’s still there, and hopefully we’ll come back hard in Sydney”

Australia is one of Fiji’s favorite venues, a history that goes back to Australia’s first-ever World Series leg in February 2000, a magical try from legend Waisale Serevi in the dying moments saw Fiji lift the first title in Brisbane, Australia. We have since won 4 more titles in Australia.

Fiji has been pooled with Samoa, France and Argentina and will have their first in at 12.00pm this Saturday.12670204_1306009102749855_4778702423482283723_n
