Ryan names 2 new players for Vegas and Vancouver

Two new caps have been named in the Vodafone Fiji 7s Team, for the fifth leg of the 2015-2016 HSBC World 7s Series in Las Vegas and Vancouver.

Josua Vici (Uluinakau) and Masivesi Dakuwaqa (Tokatoka Westfield Dragons) were both named by Vodafone Fiji 7s Coach, Ben Ryan yesterday afternoon. The two impressed national coach Ben Ryan at the Bayleys Coral Coast 7s at Lawaqa Park earlier this year.

They will make their debut on the World 7s Series stage next weekend as the Vodafone Fiji 7s team looks to defend their title in Vegas.

With major sponsors, Vodafone Fiji Ltd fully engaged in relief efforts to those affected by TC Winston, the Vodafone Fiji 7s team thanked them for their continuous support and promised to do their best in both the tournaments to raise some smiles across the nation.

The CEO FRU, Mr John O’Connor congratulated the players that have been selected especially the two players who are making their debut.

Mr O’Connor acknowledged that the players faced a significant challenge considering that some of them and their families were affected by the Cyclone, and while wishing the team all the best in the two upcoming tournaments, he encouraged the players to do their best for Fiji and all Fijians.

Fiji is pooled with Samoa, France and Argentina in the Las Vegas 7s, which will be held from the 5th to the 7th of next month.
