The Fiji 7s team to the Rio Olympics for both men and women will march into camp at the Uprising Beach Resort on Monday.

Chef De Mission for Team Fiji RIO 2016 Olympic Games Cathy Wong said they have paid Uprising to be the exclusive camp for the Olympic preparations.

WONG: “The team Fiji and its partners we will book the whole of Uprising from the 20th of June right until the team depart for the Olympics.”

Wong said FASANOC is working around the clock to give their best support to Team Fiji members participating in Rio.

WONG: “In saying that one of the criteria and one of the things Ben has questioned for the men and women team is to mimic a very high performance set up, so the team can totally train in a very high performance set up. So we want to the team in a very high performance team environment and the Rio environment. So come Rio they can just sail through the competition and no hiccups in that.”

She said Team Fiji has a very high chance in winning a gold medal at the Rio Olympics.

WONG: “As you all are aware and the whole of Fiji”s aware, we have a very high possibility to win a medal at the Olympic games and for Team Fiji and for FASANOC we have not left any stones unturned to ensure to facilitate all possible avenues and in all possible ways to enhance to win a gold medal at the Olympic games.”

Wong said the women’s 7s team will depart on the 23rd while the men will leave on the 26th of this month.

WONG: “The women’s team will depart on the 23rd of July. They will go for a one week training in San Diego and the men’s team will depart on the 26th of July and they will again go for training in San Diego before they march in for Rio.”
