The Gallagher Chiefs has named its 23-member squad that will take on BNZ Crusaders at the ANZ Stadium in Suva at 7.30pm this Friday.

Coach David Rennie said they were excited about their trip to Fiji to take on the BNZ Crusaders team.

RENNIE: “We are really excited about coming to play here we have strong links here in Fiji with a lot of players that have played here in the past and Seta being the most recent.”

Blockbusting centre Seta Tamanivalu echoed similar sentiments.

TAMANIVALU: “I am excited to be back here in Fiji after a long time. It is really special and I am looking forward to it. The support is really big when we got off at the Airport yesterday.

Hooker Hika Elliot who will be playing his 100th appearance for the Gallagher Chiefs against the BNZ Crusaders at the ANZ Stadium in Suva on Friday night.

The Gallagher Chiefs have arrived in Nausori for the Super Rugby match with the BNZ Crusaders on Friday night.

Upon their arrival the team received a warm welcome from the Fiji Sports Council staffs together with some police officers with a full traditional welcome ceremony at the Nausori Airport.

Secondary school students of the Lelean Memorial School were also present.

The Minister for Tourism Hon. Faiyaz Koya welcomed the Chiefs.

The Chiefs will announce their 23-member squad tomorrow before hosting the Crusaders at 7.35pm on Friday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

This will be the first Super Rugby match played in Fiji.

The extended squad of the Gallagher Chiefs that arrived into the country this afternoon are as follows:

Forwards: Kane Hames, Siegfried Fisi’ihoi, Hiroshi Yamashita, Atu Moli, Hika Elliot, Nathan Harris, Dominic Bird, Brodie Retallick, Jacob Skeen, Taleni Seu, Sam Cane, Tom Sanders, Mitchell Brown, Lachlan Bpshier.

Backs: Brad Weber, Tawera Kerr Barlow, Aaron Cruden, Stephen Donald, James Lowe, Toni Pulu, Andrew Horrell, Anton Lienert Brown, Seta Tamanivalu, Damian McKenzie, Sam McNicol.

Meanwhile, the Crusaders will arrive at 10am tomorrow.
