The Reds forward reeled out of a first half scrum and immediately raised the “he bit me” call with referee Damon Murphy after he alleged Fijian opposite number Samu Suguturaga took a chomp.

City produced a disciplined and sharp first half of five tries, including two rolling maul drives, to limit the Fijian flair to two tries in a 33-12 half.

Wallabies centre Samu Kerevi, who copped one neck-high tackle, was at his leg-pumping best driving through the middle to set up a try and his match fitness will have benefited enormously with the 80 minutes.
