The BNZ Crusaders arrived to a grand welcome at the Nausori International Airport earlier this morning as they prepare for Friday night’s historic Super Rugby match against the Gallagher Chiefs.

The Super Rugby team were again welcomed with a full traditional ceremony at Nausori Airport.

Coach Todd Blackadder while responding to the official welcome at the Airport this morning said they were overwhelmed with the traditional welcomes and the support from the local fans.

The Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya was present at the Airport for the official welcome.

BLACKADDER: “Thank you Minister and thank you all for welcoming us today. Its nice to feel part of the family.”

He said the team is looking forward to the historic game this Friday at the ANZ Stadium.

BLACKADDER: “I am really excited about this week and we are really excited to be here in Fiji we are going to enjoy and we are looking forward for the game on Friday.”

Blackadder also said their trip to Fiji will be a memorable one for the team.

BLACKADDER: “But more than that just looking forward to join the wonderful hospitality as well and join the people of this beautiful people that you can call paradise. Its amazing to be here so thank you very much for welcoming us. This something that we will never forget you honored us with the traditional welcome and we feel very privilege.”

Lelean students were again lined up from Nausori Airport to the main road with Crusaders flags together with excited fans who were waiting outside to get a glimpse of the players.

The Crusaders will take on the Gallagher Chiefs at 7.35pm on Friday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
