The eight participating teams received their preparation grants of $2000 each from the sponsors during the launch at Holiday Inn Suva last night.

HFC Bank chief executive officer Ross Munn said they are honoured to contribute towards the professional development of rugby in Fiji.

MUNN: “Being Fiji’s only 100 percent locally owned bank, we are honoured and pleased to contribute towards the professional development of rugby in Fiji. The outcomes are positive economically, socially and for everyone involved in rugby.

Munn wished the eight teams well ahead of the competition.

MUNN: “I congratulate the Nadroga Stallions defending the 2016 Skipper Cup Tournament. We wish all the eight teams that will challenge the HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge this Saturday and the upcoming weeks all the very best.”

Fiji Rugby Union CEO John O’Connor thanked HFC for their continuous sponsorship to the Farebrother challenge.

OCONNOR: “I wish to thank HFC for their sponsorship. They have been sponsoring the games for the last couple years. Suvas is going down to challenge Nadroga.

Mr O’Connor encourages the rugby crazy fans of Fiji to travel to Sigatoka tomorrow and witness the grudge match between Nadroga and Suva.

O’CONNOR: “I invite everyone to travel down to Nadroga and witness the grudge match. I would also want to thank the players without them there wouldn’t be any rugby competition.”

Meanwhile, Nadroga is the current Title holder for the HFC Farebrother trophy.

The Stallions team will take on Suva at Lawaqa Park tomorrow.
