Prime Minister and Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) President Voreqe Bainimarama received the cheque donation from the Reddy Group company director, Giyananand Naidu.

The Prime Minister thanked the Reddy Group on behalf of the Fijian Government and the FRU for coming forward to assist the men’s and women’s rugby teams with the cost of travel and preparations for the Rio Olympics.

BAINIMARAMA: “Our Road to Gold campaign is gaining momentum, as evidenced by the Reddy Group’s generous donation today. We are grateful for the assistance received so far, and I encourage all individuals and businesses who are able to come forward and do their part to support our rugby players in their quest for gold.”

Mr Naidu said the donation was Reddy Group’s gesture of commitment to national growth and the reinforcement of their relationship with the FRU.

NAIDU: “The Fijian rugby team has worked tirelessly to bring pride to the country. Their patriotic behaviour on the field cannot go unnoticed, and it is our duty to encourage and give all the support possible to ensure our team’s success. All the best to Ben Ryan and the player.”

The Fiji 7s team for both men and women will be named this Saturday.
