The Vodafone Fiji Sevens men’s and women’s teams received a cheque donation of $10,000 from Punja and Sons Limited towards the Road to Gold campaign to fund travel and preparations for the upcoming Rio Olympics.

The cheque was handed to the Prime Minister and Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) President, Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama, yesterday by Punja and Sons Limited director Rajesh Punja.

The Prime Minister expressed his sincere thanks on behalf of the Fijian Government and FRU for the donation.

BAINIMARAMA”We are grateful to Punja and Sons for stepping up and making this donation to support the men and women representing Fiji on the rugby field at the Rio Olympics. I hope that this gesture inspires fans and businesses alike to come forward and support our athletes in their quests for gold in Rio.”

The women’s 7’s team will depart on the 23rd while the men will leave on the 26th of this month for the Rio Olympic.
