In an interview with Newswire, Kunatani said the past two weeks of training had been intensive for him.

KUNATANI: “I have been really preparing well from the start and till now. Ever since I was named in the squad my performance has really changed and that I have put in more effort in training just to get in par with my fitness.”

The Draubuta lad is eager to start their campaign against the Brazilians in  Maracanã Stadium next month.

KUNATANI: “I just can’t wait for the competition over in Brazil. The Brazilians are new and will be unpredictable.”

Looking at their Pool, he said it would be tough competing with all teams, especially Brazil with the home ground advantage.

KUNATANI: “Brazil has its home crowd that will be cheering for them this would be a challenge but we are confident enough to tackle any team that we will compete with.”

Kunatani thanked all those who have been supporting him and the team.

KUNATANI: “Support has been really well and I thank them for all of that, I have no barriers I am just looking forwad to the competition. I would like to ask for the support from the people of Fiji. I urge them to remember us in their prayers.”

The Fiji Men’s 7s side will take on Brazil in its first match at 4.30am on 10th of August, they will then face Argentina at 9.30am and plays the USA at 4.30am on the 11th of August.
