With less than seven days from the announcement of the Fiji 7s team men’s team to the Rio Olympic Games , Josua Vici is adamant of his spot in the selection next week Friday.

Vici who has been training extra hard in the last couple of weeks said he is doing all he can to be named to represent Fiji.

VICI: “I am hoping that when the team announcement is done next week I should be one of the 13 chosen. From all the training sessions I have been doing I think I will go to Rio, so from the time I have now till the announcement of the team I will try my very best in training and prove myself to Ben.”

The Niudua Kadavu lad said upon his preparation there has been a tough competition coming from his fellow colleagues.

VICI: “Samisoni Viriviri, Josua Tuisova and Savenaca Rawaca have been playing in many international games and for me this brings more competition for us trying to determine who fits into that position.”

The former Lelean Memorial School student has the highest ‘yoyo’ test so far in the squad.

VICI: “When I started training with the tam I had achieved the highest in the yoyo test. A challenge that has been there for me is that I am new to the team and the only thing I would do to prove myself is to improve my fitness level.

The final 13 will be named next Friday at the Uprising Beach Resort.
