William and Gosling’s head of Sports and Social Mr Bill Lockwood upon the donation encouraged the teams to win gold and make the Fijian families proud.

LOCKWOOD: “We want to say to both teams, there’s no time to relax, we know that everyone is behind you, we know the training staff and coaching staff has been pushing you to your limits and we appreciate that. Now it’s time for you as team members to show us what you’ve got. In the next few days few of you will be selected, there’s an old saying that goes it one does not matter whether you win or lose its how you play the game, we W&G family tell you it’s not about playing the game but about winning or losing.”

He said the donation shows their support, the William & Gosling family to the team.

LOCKWOOD: “We want you in today’s gathering with the little support that the staff have put up for you, you’ll see that we are supporting you by wearing all our t-shirts and whatever we give to you today we hope that you’ll do us proud and do our country proud by bringing us that gold.”

He also informed the teams to be good role models to the children of Fiji as they are an inspiration to them.

LOCKWOOD: “I speak on behalf of all parents, you as players, the male and female team are inspirations to our children. Our children look up to you and for that we thank you and ask you to keep up the good the good work. Keep up the good role model that you are to our little ones who will be following in the footsteps in the not too distant future.

Meanwhile, Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan acknowledged the timely donations.

RYAN: “When we go to Rio we can guarantee you we will give our absolute best for the mention so a big Vinaka from me.”

Coach Ryan names the 13 member squad this Friday.
