The Fiji men’s national sevens coach Ben Ryan said that our 7s gladiators are still not quite at the level that he wants them to be in.

Ryan said the boys probably have another ten percent of improvement left in them.

RYAN: “So I am still going to go hard with them they still not quiet at the level where they going to be. I’ll get them sharper and that is what I am really doing now I am just sharpening that blade and its just the small things that you will need to do to get them over the line.”

He said he was happy with the level of fitness the boys are in now.

RYAN: “I am very happy with their level at the moment, they are in great shape.”

Meanwhile, our women’s team leave our shores today while the men’s depart next Tuesday.

Our men’s team will take on Brazil in its first match at 4.30am on 10th of August, they will then face Argentina at 9.30am and plays USA at 4.30am on the 11th of August.

The women’s team will play USA at 4am on August 7th in their first pool match before they take on Australia at 9.30am on the same day. Their last pool match is against Colombia at 4am August 8th.
