As at 6.00am this morning, Tropical Depression TD09F was analysed near 14.8S 168.8E(indicated with the star on the picture) or approximately 980km to the far West-northwest of Nadi.

Over the last 24 hours, the system has been moving in the south-southeast direction.

It is expected to pass to the far west of Fiji and poses no direct threat to Fiji. Nonetheless, rainbands associated with this system will affect from later today with heavy falls likely to occur in Vanua Levu and the western half of Viti Levu.

The weather service say that hot and humid conditions will continue because winds will be from a northerly direction.

TD09F has a high chance of developing into a Tropical Cyclone but this is likely to happen later in the week.

Meanwhile the Fiji Meteorology Service received information from their counterparts in Australia of a developing system(circled in red in the picture) which may head our way soon.
