The National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) is urging the public to closely monitor weather reports as rainfall continues to be recorded around the country.

Director of National Disaster Management Mr. Akapusi Tuifagalele said that the NDMO is working with Divisional Commissioners who are monitoring the situation on the ground and preparing to respond if necessary.

TUIFAGALELE: “Apart from that we continue to advise the public to act wisely and practice caution at all times. Those living in flood prone and low-lying areas should be watchful for any possible flooding.”

He advised students returning home from school today to travel with with caution.

TUIFAGALELE: “Parents are to monitor the whereabouts of children and safeguard children from playing in flooded drains or waterways.”
