Mr Funaki said the Nadi Weather forecasting Centre is currently monitoring the two tropical disturbances.

We are monitoring the situation right now and issuing our bulletins on the two tropical disturbances. Currently there is a heavy rain fall and strong wind warning for the whole of Fiji.

Mr Funaki said the second disturbance developed over night and is approximately 670km West-North-West of Yasawa‑I‑rara and is slow moving in a south-easterly direction.

Mr Funaki said the public is being warned for flash flooding that may occur due to heavy rain.

Right now, it is still a tropical disturbance. The wind speed needs to reach a standard of 35 knots, but it hasn’t reached that stage.

Though the signatures are there and we are getting some heavy rain falls, it is set to attain that wind speed.

The Nadi Weather Office said the potential for the two systems to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24‑48 hours is moderate.
