The flood has caught us by surprise, you know because it was a Sunday when people were being warned and because of that a lot of businesses they were unable to move their stuffs up because a lot of staffs were at home because it was a Sunday, it wasn’t a normal trading day.

Mr. Prasad said most businesses are already closing down due to the rise in water levels and frequent power outages.

And as a result the flood has caught us by surprise and since early morning at six this morning the Nadi River has got flooded, it has resulted in the flooding of the Nadi back road and the Temple end of the town. And as we speak the Nadi River is also on the verge of bursting its banks, few inches away and that will result in the main town being flooded as well.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Roads Authority said the Nadi River and Sabeto River levels have now reached the same level as Queens Road.
