The Methodist Church in Fiji has announced that Sunday services will be suspended for tomorrow.

As Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston passes over Fiji, President Rev. Dr. Banivanua has called on the nation to join in prayer.

Once you are prepared physically for the cyclone and are in a safe place, please commit yourselves to prayer. This is a time for all Fijians who are people of faith to come to prayer and meditation for our nation’s protection.

Church General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Epineri Vakadewavosa said this decision is for the safety of members.

We urge our members to exercise caution and common sense with regards to Sunday worship this weekend. I encourage our members to hold family devotion at home tomorrow

Rev. Dr. Vakadewavosa is asking all Divisional Superintendents and ministers to advise their members to follow instructions from the National Disaster Management Office.
