A Government team will depart for Lau this Thursday to carry out a damage assessment caused by Tropical Cyclone Ula.
This was highlighted by the Director National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) Akapusi Tuifagalele at a press briefing today.

“Government will want to know the cost involved during the assessment and if there is a need for assistance, it will be collated into a report, which will then be submitted to cabinet,” Mr Tuifagalele said.

“Divisional commissioners have also been advised to submit various reports on damage assessments to NDMO.”

Meanwhile, Mr Tuifagalele said the team will also take some relief items to assist families affected by the recent adverse weather conditions.
