A number of areas in Viti Levu are still without electricity as the Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) is trying to rectify the problem.

An FEA representative told Newswire that the power outages currently experienced are due to a power post being repaired.

This is an unplanned power outage.

There is a fault that our FEA team is still trying to rectify and that’s why there has been recent power outages today. Power should be restored between one to two hours.

We are still trying to liaise with our Manusavu team who are the ones trying to rectify the fault.

FEA will be conducting major maintenance works at its Wailoa Power Station from 9:30pm tonight to next week Monday (28/03/2016).

FEA spokesperson Karunesh Rao requested questions to be emailed to him directly.
