Vodafone begins distributing 1000 relief packs in Rakiraki, Tavua and Ba

The Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation this morning started distributing relief packs to the victims of tropical cyclone Winston.

A team of over 100 staff and volunteers began distribution from Rakiraki this morning.  They will then move on to Tavua and Ba.

Vodafone’s Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Divik Deo confirmed to Newswire they prepared 1000 packs with the help of over 250 volunteers in Suva.  Each package is worth $250, and contains:

  • Potatoes 2kg
  • Rice 5kg
  • Onion 2Kg
  • Flour 5kg
  • Chow Noodles (10packs)
  • Tinned Fish (4)
  • Milk Powder (1)
  • Tea 200gms
  • Tisue Papers 10 pack
  • Cooking oil 750ml
  • Dates x 1 pack for energy
  • Split peas x 2kg
  • Salt x 1kg
  • Sugar x 2kg
  • Bottled Water (1.5ltr x 6)
  • Bandage – 100s pack
  • Nomopain/Panadol tablets (20 sheets)
  • Gas lighter
  • Kerosene (4 litres)
  • Collapsable Jerry cans – (10ltr)
  • Kerosene stove
  • Tarpaulin
  • Rafia string
  • Candles (6-pack)
  • Mosquito Coil (10 packets)
  • Plastic plates and garbage bags

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama earlier took charge of some packs and had been distributing them in other areas around Fiji.
