Gagaj Maraf, Chief of Noatau District and member of the Rotuma Council while presenting the donation on behalf of the people of Rotuma expressed the island’s sympathy to those that had been affected.

As people of one nation, we sympathise with those that were affected by severe Tropical Cyclone Winston.

We are happy to lend a hand to those that need it.

Commissioner Eastern Division, Mr Luke Moroivalu in receiving the donation said the fresh food items would be distributed to those who needed it the most especially Fijians living in the maritime islands.

Mr Moroivalu said that a lot of people had lost everything during the cyclone and kind gestures such as that shown by the Rotuman community make the people of Fiji stronger.
