A party statement said the MPs have written to the Secretary-General to Parliament authorising the deduction, and would be later advised on how to disburse the funds.   The deductions would be from 15th March 2016 to 15th March 2017.

Party Leader Dr Biman Prasad has authorised 50% of his annual salary to be deducted while Tupou Draunidalo and Prem Singh will have 10% deducted from theirs.

NFP said they supported the decision of SODELPA to contribute ten percent of their annual parliamentary salaries.
