The Government of Malaysia has donated $52,907.45 to the Prime Minister’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.

The funds will be used for those directly affected by Cyclone Winston.

The Malaysian High Commission’s Charge d’Affaires Mr Hamizan Hamishi presented the cheque to the Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Ratu Inoke Kuabuabola on behalf of his Government.

Minister Kubuabola thanked Mr Hamishi for the donation on behalf of the Fijian Government adding that the donation was indicative of the strong friendship between Fiji and Malaysia.

KUBUABOLA: ‘Please pass on our gratitude for the assistance and reconstruction that will be carried out by the Fijian Government. It will go a long way to bringing relief to our people.”

Mr Hamishi commended the Fijian Government for the recovery efforts undertaken since Cyclone Winston.
