Labasa groups donate to PM’s relief fund

The Divisional Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea this morning received monetary donations from two organizations in Labasa.

The Vunika Satsang Faag Ramayan Mandali handed over $200 cash and Zaid Engineering Limited a cheque of $3,000 that will go towards the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

Mr Parmesh Raj Naicker the representative from the Faag Ramayan Manadali said the group consists of nine households.

We hope the small donation we have collected will contribute to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

Mr Daud Hussein the Managing Director for Zaid Engineering Limited in Labasa said they sympathised with those living in the Northern maritime islands who were severely affected by TC Winston.

He added the Brisbani AID Foundation base in Australia is also sending $15,000 worth of food ration to be part of their donation to help those affected.

The Brisbani AID Foundation consists of Fijian families who are from Labasa and are now residing in Brisbane, Australia.

In receiving the donations Commissioner Vocea on behalf of government thanked both the organisations for thinking of those severely affected by TC Winston.
