Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday received a cheque of $10.38 million from the Republic Indonesia. 

The cheque was handed over by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, HE Luhut B Pandjaitan.

PM Bainimarama said the assistance provided by various countries will go a long way.

This will go a long way in assisting those affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston and I want to acknowledge the support we continue to receive from Indonesia.

Mr. Pandjaitan extended the Indonesian President and its people’s condolences to Fiji in the aftermath of the devastation caused by TC Winston.

It is a great honor to visit your country and a trade delegation from Indonesia will also be visiting Fiji soon.

Mr. Pandjaitan, who arrived in Fiji last night, is on a one-day visit to Fiji and had several engagements including a visit to the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime and Rural Development and National Disaster Management Office, Hon. Inia Seruiratu and also met with Foreign Affairs, Hon. Ratu Inoke Kubuabola.
