I have encouraged the villagers to begin cleaning up and start repairs to their homes. We also prioritized the cleaning and repairs of toilets knowing that proper sanitation is important in times like these.

We must continue to work, clean up, repair, move on, and work with government as assistance pours in. As you can also see, we have put up tarpaulins that were given and people have moved from the evacuation centre to the temporary shelters.

Mr. Sele also conveyed his appreciation to the Government and international donors on behalf of the people of Cikobia.

I am happy about the big assistance that has come from various Fijian government agencies and also the New Zealand, Australian, and Tongan Governments.

The Red Cross has also been very helpful and I thank all government officials.

Cikobia has a population of 64 home and its habitat to 38 adults and 26 children.
