The National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) said the number of evacuation centres and evacuees were declining.

NDMO Director Akapusi Tuifaqalele at a press briefing a short while ago said:

Due to a request by the Ministry of Education to clear schools, the overall number of evacuation centres is expected to go down so that schools can resume from Monday.

  • 79 schools were currently used as evacuation centres.
  • 131 schools remain closed
  • 271 schools damagedĀ in all four division
  • $46.42 million estimated damage to schools
  • Death toll remains at 43
