Sixteen people from Nadroga, charged with sedition and inciting communal antagonism, appeared in the Lautoka High Court yesterday.

An application made by the defense for a bail review has been scheduled for Friday.  All accused have been further remanded.

The matter was called for a voir dire and adjourned to 23rd September for defense to provide their voir dire grounds.

Also adjourned was:

  • Ruling on an application by the defense regarding unlawful detention of the accused Adi Cuvu Atama and Adi Vasemaca Veikunekibulu – 23 September.
  • Ruling on application by three accused claiming human rights violation at Naboro Prison – 23 September.
