Her Majesty, The Queen Elizabeth II, as Head of the Commonwealth, has made a private donation to the relief effort in Fiji following the devastation of Cyclone Winston.

Two weeks after the cyclone struck, the scale of the damage inflicted by Winston and the extent of the recovery effort needed has becomes clear.  Her Majesty has made a donation to charities working to help those effected.  A number of charities are working to deliver relief and support to those in need of assistance following the cyclone.

Following the devastating Cyclone which struck Fiji on 20 February, The Queen sent the following message to the people of Fiji.

As the people of Fiji recover from the devastating impact of Tropical Cyclone Winston, I send my sincere condolences to those who have lost loved ones.  My thoughts are also with those who have seen their homes and property ruined and are starting the hard work of rebuilding. I know how resilient and resourceful the people of Fiji are.
