The Director for Intelligence and Investigation for Fiji Police Force, ACP Henry Brown, has resigned.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho made the announcement today after receiving an emailed notification of ACP Brown’s resignation.

Brigadier General Qiliho said ACP Brown had indicated that he is tendering the resignation under duress because of allegations against him. ACP Brown said he was being denied natural justice.

ACP Brown has sought extended leave after an internal investigation was initiated against him.

Brigadier General Qiliho confirmed the first phase of the investigation was complete and the file had been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for a legal opinion.

“The force has procedures to follow while an investigation is conducted, and the former Director Intelligence will be given an opportunity to be heard during his interrogation,” Qiliho explained.

ACP Brown is away overseas and was expected to resume duty yesterday. SSP Luke Navela will be replacing Brown as the acting Director Intelligence and Investigation.
