Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority’s, Acting General Manager Customs, Mr. Kumar Sami Goundar, has refuted claims his division had been charging 15% VAT levy on import transaction fee this year.

“The VAT had been adjusted at the beginning of the year, and we are in compliance.”

A local newspaper this week claimed FRCA had been charging customs agents 15% VAT on imported consignments, later reduced by 6% after complaints from the unnamed agents.
