And to encourage more Employers to use the portal, FNPF will waive penalties for all Employers who successfully register and use this facility by 14 June 2016.

Fiji National Provident Fund Chief Operating Officer Jaoji Koroi said employers will also be issued Compliance letters valid for 12 months as an extra incentive for complying with the submission of their contributions schedule and payments through the online portal.

Mr. Koroi said the use of employers portal is part of the Fund’s future, and all Employers need to convert to using the portal as it is an effective and efficient contribution submission mode.

KOROI: “The portal empowers the employers by giving them access to post employees contributions after verifying the information on the contribution schedule against our records, especially in relation to members’ full names sourced from their birth certificates.”

Mr. Koroi said birth registration records are critical as it provides information such as the expected retirement dates of our members.

KOROI: “FNPF has been conducting workshops since last year and our teams have been visiting Employers to assist them with submission on the portal. It is a more streamlined mode of operation and will enable a more efficient way to distribute funds to members accounts.”

Upon uploading of the contribution schedule form online, an invoice is then generated which employers are then required to take for payment to the bank or FNPF cashier.

Mr. Koroi said also due to the recent changes in the crediting of the FNPF interest to its members, timely distribution of members funds is vital, in order to pay the correct interest to members.

KOROI: “Successful use of the portal will qualify the employer to be issued compliance letter and waiver of penalties, subject to fully compliance of the FNPF Decree. The letter may be revoked if there is a breach by the employer during the 12 month period.”

The FNPF Employers online service can be accessed on the FNPF website.
