The Fund is currently working with the top 500 employers to cleanse all member records which will allow the lodgment and payments of contributions to be automated.

A total of 105 employers are now using this online facility, called the Employers Portal, following the upgrade of the Fund’s IT system.

Crucial to the success of using this portal is that members’ records with the employers match those with FNPF. FNPF maintains strict records of members based on their birth certificates as this data is linked to their retirement dates and entitlements.

Several key advantages in using this facility include the timely monthly updates of members’ contributions, reduction in errors and elimination of risks associated with posting, updated member records and the reduction of undistributed (suspense) contributions.

Employers who have used this portal have highlighted some key features of the portal including faster turn-around time of registering new employees and obtaining their FNPF numbers in less than 24 hours. Employers can also check their payment history and other important notices from FNPF.

The Fund’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr Jaoji Koroi said:

KOROI: “We met with the Payroll providers last week and are fine-tuning the online facility to suit employers’ needs as we plan to get all employers registered online in the next few weeks.”

The Fund is currently meeting with all registered Employers to brief them about this new facility and to register these employers to use the Employers Portal.

KOROI: “All employers need to be registered users of the portal by the end of July. We also have a dedicated team to attend to those employers that would need our assistance in regards to this new value-adding initiative.”
