Samoa has congratulated Fiji’s gold medal win at the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama received a congratulatory note from his Samoan counterpart, Hon Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi, congratulating him on the Flying Fijians victory.

MALIELEGAOI: “Dear Prime Minister, congratulations on your 7’s Team’s magnificent performance and victory in Rio.”

In his letter both as the PM and Chairman of the Samoa Rugby Union, he also congratulated the Fiji Rugby Union.

MALIELEGAOI: “On behalf of the Samoa Rugby Union, I wish to congratulate the Fiji 7s team and Fiji Rugby Union. Fiji’s success is a great achievement for all our Pacific Islands unions.”
