The former Commissioner of Corrections Services Ifereimi Vasu, Acting Deputy Commissioner Corrections Services Peniasi Kunatuba, and businessman Dhansukh Lal Bhika appeared in the Suva Magistrates court yesterday.

Background:

Ifereimi Vasu, the former Commissioner Fiji Corrections Service and Peniasi Kurivitu Kunatuba Director Corporate Service are charged with one count of ‘Abuse of Office’ Contrary to Section 139 of the Crimes Decree No. 44 of 2009, while Dhansukh Lal Bhika is charged with one count of ‘Aiding and Abetting Abuse of Office’ and with one count of ‘Obtaining a Financial Advantage’.
