A man appeared at the Suva Magistrate Court today for one count of conspiracy to defraud- influencing a public official contrary to Section 329 (1) of the Crimes Decree 2009.

Asaf Ali appeared before Magistrate Makerata Mua.

Ali is alleged to have conspired with another person with the intention of dishonestly influencing Fiji Immigration Officers in the exercise of their duties in the issuance of a passport.

Magistrate Mua has adjourned the case to the 20th May 2016 and the matter to be called before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili.

The accused has been further remanded in custody.

Asaf Ali appeared at the Suva Magistrates’ Court yesterday before Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage.

He is alleged to have conspired with another person with the intention of dishonestly influencing Fiji Immigration Officers in the exercise of their duties in the issuance of a passport.

The State served full disclosures and the matter has been adjourned to today the 18th of May 2016 for a bail application.

The accused has been remanded in custody.
