Police are happy that there were zero  road fatalities in November, although December has already recorded three deaths on our roads so far.

In a statement, Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho said this proved that preventing the loss of lives on our roads was attainable.

QILIHO: “While the month of December has unfortunately recorded three fatal accidents to date, what was achieved in the month of November makes me optimistic that we can save lives if we are to adhere to road safety at all times.”

Commissioner Qiliho said Police recorded an annual average of 40 to 50 lives lost on our roads.  The road death toll currently stands at 52 compared to 61 for the same period last year.
