Police have yet to charge the taxi driver allegedly involved in a hit and run accident in Labasa last month.

Police spokesperson Inspector Jokatama Qio said the file remained with the Director of Public Prosecution office for sactioning.

QIO: “The investigation file is still with DPP’s office for sanctioning. We will make further comments once the file is returned from the DPP’s office.”

The taxi driver is alleged to have hit Ilisoni Qumi, who was found lying on  the roadside near the Labasa Fiji Sugar Cooperation Mill at about 2am.
