A 29-year-old man of Coqeloa, Labasa was pronounced death on arrival at the Labasa Hospital after he was electrocuted near his home last evening.

Police spokesperson Inspector Josaia Weicavu said the deceased was attempting to pump water from a well by connecting an electric wire to the motor when got electrocuted.

WEICAVU: “Members of the community are advised to be careful when dealing with live electric power supply.”

Inspector Weicavu said the post-mortem arrangement is underway and investigations continue.
