LTA CEO Mr Naisa Tuinaceva said the Authority is also closely monitoring other private vehicles believed to be operating as rentals or taxis.

We want to warn those who are still involved in illegal operations to stop because once we get to them, it means de-registration and all years of investments and savings will be wasted.

We will ensure the interest of our stakeholders is not compromised as they have made sacrifices and spent an exorbitant amount of money trying to provide the best services for the general public. They have met all the requirements the legal way and LTA will ensure their interests are protected.

LTA will call the accused operators to show cause at a disciplinary hearing committee.  The Authority will also investigate the source of the taxi meters the accused vehicles were using.
